the New logon was deployed to our workstations over the mid term. nice wee surprise for the monday back

Its not really any better than the last one is it?  A logon screen with a screensaver built in would be much better so as to save the logon screen burning itself into the monitors of lazy teacher's workstations.

Yeah, I agree with this assessment, but just what is the point of having this new login screen?

Does it make the computers more efficient to use?

Does it make them faster on the log in?

Does it make them faster on the operations?

I haven't seen any difference, our english teacher made a comment on them, I found it very appropriate, he referred to them as being the C2k equivalent of "go-faster-stripes".

Well they did have to change the SX3 to Northgate - wonder did they go through the whole feasibility study, design, prototyping etc  :lol:

They would probably say that “It is in development and will be ready to be rolled out in this next month”.

It just came up on one of our machines there yesterday, and it was just the one, maybe they're just testing it on one machine per school to see if they get any complaints.  8)
