Ipad and Apple TV
« on: September 13, 2012, 11:07:15 AM »
So I'm an Apple virgin, so to speak :) We have a number of iPads in the school and have just purchased some Apple TVs. My question is what else is needed so that the iPads can be used wirelessly to connect to the Apple TVs to go through a projector? Hope this makes sense.

You need something to connect the apple tv to the data projector (unless your projectors have a wireless card on them).  We had one working the other day, the teacher had a HDMI to VGA converter thingy connected.

Sorry, knew that but how do I connect the iPad to the Apple TV wirelessly? Do I just buy a cheap wireless router?

I'm nearly certain the Air Play feature allows this.  I'm going to be setting up something similar here in the near future myself hopefully!

the problem youll run into is that the image doesnt go the full size of the screen for some reason. its always smaller that the projector screen, exactly the same when run through the TV through the apple TV. Dont get me wrong photos and videos put through apple tv seem to output in full screen but when mirroring from ipad (apps) to apple tv through the projector it doesnt output full screen.

I was hoping that this was something that would be fixed with the release of IOS 6 hopefully

A cheap router will do the job, we have 4 apple tv's connected with 3 different wirless routers (diff makes and models) and have extenders added to increase range.

Hi Wilkie what brand/make of router would you recommend after one years use?

Thanks
