Firewire
« on: February 08, 2012, 12:56:32 PM »
Hi,  the latest batch of machines have no firewire connection, we still have old video cameras that use firewire.  I was thinking of buying a firewire express card and putting it in the teacher laptop in the IT suite, does this seem a sensible solution?

Also we were going to buy a multicard reader so that pupils could upload their videos taken with their phones onto the network (we are limiting this to a once a year activity).

Do these seem sensible solutions?

not sure about firewire, but a card reader would be really handy to have as im forever using it for all sorts, but is it not a bad idea to promote taking videos on phones in schools when they shouldnt be allowed in
