What's noodle?

lol, sorry, I thought noodle was something to replace RM Connect, honestly didn't realise it was a typo.

Maybe he means moodle.

Anyone know if there's going to be money supplied for additional resources for schools like there was with the initial rollout, where you could buy more workstations, better printers etc?

What will happen to the C2K laptops and the slightly older C2K machines that we've purchased.  We moved all the laptops into the classrooms and have around 50 Dell optiplex machines (dual core) - probably capable of running Windows 7 if most stuff is going to be done through MySchool.  If these are no longer supported we're ging to lose around 100 workstations.  If we have to pay to keep them on the C2K system then we're also stuck as there's no money.

Hope they've thought this through from the schools' point-of-view.

Actually, if everything is done through MySchool why do we even need c2K machines?  Surely we can just buy a lot of cheap desktops?

Wouldn't be surprised in your neck of the woods, probably the annual Lurgan pig tossing championships.

Ok Office is one thing, but how about solid works /  Photoshop / Playing videos etc work with a cloud based system like that where the apps are in the cloud then file transfers surely will kill the internet connection? ??? ?

If we are able to connect ANY hardware with ANY OS then could we use Compaq E500 laptops with maybe a Linux distro on it?

Could we plug a laptop like that into a C2k switch and get it to work or would we have to install the connection only software?

As part  of this service Eircom will deliver superfast connectivity to the Education  Cloud, providing schools with up to 200Mb of bandwidth.

Ah the old 'up to' card. I wonder how many schools will even get close to 50meg?
