No C2K login screen
« on: October 07, 2011, 09:28:04 AM »
Hey, back again!

I have a computer here that boots into a normal windows login screen after selecting normal managed mode startup. It asks me to log onto the administrator account, and not the normal C2K login. I have 2 questions. Firstly is there an admin password I should know about, and secondly what do you think needs done so it will boot normally to c2k login.

I went into maintenance mode ut not sure to go ahead and use one of the options, as I say i am new to c2k. Any help is much appreciated.

does it ask for a cb3 account and password if so its probably been a machine thats been rebuilt but the cb3 password has changed you would need to log a call to get an engineer out to put there password it that should then let it join the domain.

If you go through maintance mode and rebuild workstation if the old password is still on that image then this again wont join the domain until you get an engineer to put there password in and then back the machine up after all updates have been done

Cheers for the reply. No it is booting just to your plain old xp non networked logon. The user is administrator and its asking for a password, like my home computer would do. Very strange. Thanks.

that usually happens if the northgate engineer's that build the machine has changed his password since the image was made and wont authenticate on the server.   call out is the only fix

Thanks for the replies. I think that the computer isnt currently not supported by C2K anymore either which doesn't help matters. Thanks.

What you'll need then is a friendly engineer who is out to do another job to kick off a rebuild, usually they don't mind.

Good to know. I spoke to one today who was sound but didn't get the opportunity to ask him. Next time then. Thanks.
