I'm in the middle of coding up the new website for our school, when I got here and seen it I very nearly ran away screamling in bloody horror at its utter and sheer crapness...

Thankfully I was able to stave this inpulse and stay and now I have it all deconstructed and am recompiling the code, well, actually, recoding from scratch would be a better thing to say.

But anyway, whats the craziest thing you've put into your school's site, if you were the one who did it and what languages did you use (other than the obvious html).
The LAN's Watch
Data gathers, and now my watch begins.
It shall not end until my downsizing (or I get a better offer.)
I shall take no lunchbreaks, join no user groups, skip no patches.
I shall wear no neckties and win no bonuses.
I shall live and die at my console.
I am the patcher in the darkness. I am the admin of the firewalls. I am the shield that guards the realm of my systems.
I pledge my days and weekends to the LAN?s Watch, for this day and all the days to come.

Why re-invent the wheel? go to http://www.mamboserver.com and download the latest version. It uses php and MySql. It's a complete Content Management system and it works brilliantly.

That looks very cool, I'll download it and check it out. It'll probably put my automated php photo gallery to shame!  8)

For the photo gallery I use a script called coppermine. You can check it out here http://www.stmichaelslurgan.org.uk/gallery

It's proving to be a very very popular section of the school website - the photos have been viewed over 250,000 times since it was uploaded last July.

That looks cool, mines just a simple one page of php that uses the file handling to get the names of the files within the folder that the php page is contained, and then uses the file name taken by using this and displays the image using the ever simple html img tags.

Would you be interested in seeing the code?

Won't mind. PM it to me. I've gone away from writing scripts because so much of what I need has already been written and is available as open source. If it isn't exactly what I want I just tweak it :)
