I think there was a topic about this on the old forum.
Has anyone installed vaping sensors in their toilets in school?
We are pricing around at the moment and getting quotes of £900 each plus having to install cat6 cabling to them.

Thanks

We are looking at doing our own with Raspberry Pi, you can also use an optical smoke alarm to detect vape. You get a nice loud noise but no alert messages.

The problem we found with the bought system is, it takes around 1-2 mins to detect and send the alert. By the time someone reads it and walks to the toilet it will be empty.

It would cheaper to pay someone to stand at the door as most toilets will need at least 2-3 sensors with subscriptions as well.

I had heard that a school in Belfast was making kids leave their blazers, bags and phones etc in the classroom before they were allowed to go to the toilet.
