They will usually work in teams of 2

We usually had 2 teams of 2 but on some days this was only 1 team. It will depend on the size of your site and the timetabling that Select Services have done themselves.

Ours ran slightly over and we had to get a revisit to finish off half a dozen outstanding merakis.

With yours getting done over July when there are no classes on, I think you'll find that they may end up ahead of schedule.

A lot of the issues they have are often with the way cable can run through multiple classrooms which means a lot of room changes to facilitate, obviously slowing things down.

Were still waiting on our survey  :'(

Was there much time between the survey being performed and the start of the proposed installation?

A good few months. That might vary from site to site though

We've finally received the report and spreadsheet in preparation for the new wifi installation, and they're requesting that it be completed before next Friday.

On the spreadsheet switch report, are they asking for the switch and port of the current APs and free wallsockets in each room?  The instructions are in English, but it's written like a flat-pack furniture assembly leaflet

Thanks.

Yeah they'll want the cabinet, switch and port for exisiting APs so they can just replace the cabling there.

For new APs they'll want to know if there's free ports available in those rooms. For any new APs they'll have asked you to provide a list of ports that you want configured as WAPs. You should have these sent off to C2K for configuration prior to their arrival.

Your initial survey should have looked at your switches to factor in if you had enough free ports.

Desperate time to be starting coming up to exam season too though :S

if the survey was done propertly at the start, their would be no need for any unecessary excel form filling.

Ended up that they couldn't do 6 WAP installs in our school because of the survey.  Didn't pick up on a few things.

3x High Ceilings - They wont go over a certain height.
3x Mobiles - No free cables in the mobiles.  As it's underground work they wouldn't do that either.  Have to wait on EA to install fresh cables to all 6 locations.

Guys on site here doing brilliant job. We managed to change a few that where option 3's into option 2s buy pulling cables back from another room that had spare instead of running new cables back to cabs so saved a bit of time.

Due to finish today with only outstanding issue being a few additional port reconfigs by helpdesk

Totally agree, the install team are great.  Very tidy job.
We just be waiting a long time to get the project completed.  If survey team had of picked up on this at the time we had space/time to get all the cabling done.

Agree with a lot that's been said here.

Survey did seem a bit lacking as we had follow on issues too that hadn't been picked up. The install teams are great though. If you get a guy Chris leading them he is fantastic and very easy to work with.

Like Gerard, we too had a lot of option 3s converted to 2s by pulling cable from elsewhere.

Totally agree - great install team from SelectServices.   Our lead engineer Eugene was brilliant & left a very neat job - great to see someone go above and beyond rather than "that'll do" lol

Had same guys here doing ours, good job all around and the performance and reliability is much much better than the MERU network. It's worth the wait to have this install done.

I can now walk from one end of the school to the other in the hallway and a live stream on an iPad won't drop out, its really good from what we are used to.

Is anoyne else having difficulty connecting Clevertouch panels to the current MERU setup? It takes lots of attempts for it to connect. Either says, saved, disconnected or the WIFI turns off.
It eventually connects but it is very frustrating.
