Cannot login to Google account via Chrome browser

I had a rebuild of my machine and now I find that when I download and install Google Chrome as per Information Sheet EN127, the installation is successful, however, I cannot login to my google account through the Google Chrome browser. I prefer to use Google Chrome as opposed to IE11. Before the rebuild I was able to access my account without any difficulty through Chrome on my computer from the previous time it was installed. Can anybody offer any useful suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks for your help and time

I am having similar issues being reported here.  According to helpdesk it's a known issue at present & security team looking into resolving it.

I have had similar problems with chrome in the past. I managed to find the full offline installer and used it, then once installed went to help and about and made sure I had the latest version of chrome and this fixed my problems.

I solved the problem by installing an older version of Google Chrome. It appears, this affects the new updated Chrome version. C2K are aware of the problem and are unclear (at time of this post) as to what they plan to do.
In any event, the installation of the older browser gets around all probelms. Just don't force an update of your Google Browser if all things are working for you right now  :)

Is anyone else having security issues with Google chrome when accessing from school?

Google now force encryption in the new version of chrome, we contacted C2k before easter and we were told that there is no fix and we should just use IE.

I think XLR8R had success using chrome portable or installing an old version would temporarily fix the issue..

Thanks for that.
It peeves me that c2k won't bother to fix Chrome and force use of IE. I use Chrome at home and GAFE run quite smoothly too. I am hearing rumours that our school will drop Google in favour of Microsoft stuff.. one drive rather than Google drive etc. Very annoying not to have choice since I have lots of Google resources, use Google classroom etc.
I tried older version of Google Chrome but computer didn't like, so looks like I'm forced into IE.

This si what I use. works daily on my C2k computer. Just do not allow it to update. Keep a copy of teh older version somewhere on your C drive. I put a shortcut on the taskbar.

Running now Chrome64 version 54 on c2k computers. Acces to Google drive and emails etc.,I'm happy enough
