Boinx iStopMotion for Mac
« on: June 26, 2015, 01:30:49 PM »
Hi all, has anyone on here had issues with registering iStopMotion via the C2K network? I've attempted to register the software via an administrator account and standard user accounts with OpenGuest, GuestTrusted or Legacy network. NONE of them seem to access Boinx authentication server. Initially the licence is approved but as soon as I close the software and re-open it's trying to authenticate. At one stage an iMac sat for over 7 hours on the 'loading product data' screen. I've been in touch with the software developers who have suggested various fixes, none of which work. They've also requested I un-sandbox the licence and move to a systemwide location, which I have done. They're telling me it must be a network issue and - from conversation with C2K staff yesterday - I now tend to agree with them. As a result we have a suite of Macs with iStopMotion installed but can't be used. Do any other schools use this software for animating in Moving Image Arts? If so, how did you get round it? I'm planning to take one of the Macs home this weekend to test on my own network but would love some tips if you have 'em!

Thanks in advance! Chris

You are not going to like this but it seems that the only way to get around problems like this and authentication is to have your own broadband network provided by BT for example. At about ?40 per month its not that expensive and it gets rid of all the silly problems that Capita place in your way  ::)

can c2k not add the server address for istopmotion into a authentication bypass site? just a thought?

i don't know if they have this feature or not but if allot of schools are using this software and its the same server address they authenticate the license with then you would think they should add this site to a whitelist
