Liscence not available for machine.
« on: December 01, 2006, 03:56:20 PM »
Hi, I recently replaced 3 of our legacy machines and built them. But when the boot an error something along the lines of "no liscence available for this machine" comes up. Is this because of the network card or is there another explanation for it (im new to this legacy lark). Although I have seen the same error on machines that have had the network cables removed or taken out.

Thanks

Alvyn

Is it this message?

'Unable to claim an RM Network Management System Client Licence'

If this is an RM Connect network and you  managed to build them from the network then the network card should be fine.  Check rm.com/support if you haven't done so already.  Could be a number of things.

if it is the above error  and your running rm connect 2.4  it could mean that its not picking up the network

i get this all the time,

check the patch leads

We have hubs under the tables in the class room which usually stop working for no reason and give this error message

if your using an image of a machine with a different nic you will need to change your image

Check that there is a station set up in the RM station manager for the station name you used, if so try deleting it and creating a new one

hope this helps
