Sims reinstall
« on: October 12, 2011, 12:43:20 PM »
Hi. There is one of the machines with sims on it that is having a problem with the register among other things. Last time I had a sims problem (seperate machine) it was logged with c2k. They remote desktopped the machine while on the phone to me. What I am getting at is that he opened the run box and typed in something to reinstall sims on that machine which fixed the issue. He told me that it fixes most sims problems. I wrote it down, but then lost it. I expect it was just a shortcut to the setup file.

If you know what I am looking for can you shed some light. Thanks.

also check c:\programfiles\sims\sims.net\connect.ini file  exists and if it does it should have something like
  [sims connection]
 servername = deni_servername,
database name,
command timeout = 600

or

redirect s:\sims

if its anything else copy the connect.ini file from s:\sims to the sims.net program file folder
