Empty Laser Printer Cartridges - Worth anything?
« on: May 11, 2011, 11:05:04 AM »
Hi Folks

I am sitting on some old HP laser colour printer cartridges which cost abit of money, now that they are empty I was wondering do any of you know any companies / organisations that would pay money for these?   Seems a shame not getting some money back on them plus it makes the case for ordering new ones if I was able to get some money back on them?  Any ideas would be helpful

Thanks

most schools use some sort of recycle company - usually with the proceeds going to a charity rather than the school.  I guess you could check these guys out:

That is what we do as well recycle them with the proceeds going to cancer research.

I always send them back to whatever the one that Supplies team uses, recycled and new ones.  Sometimes I even through in other bits like waste toner boxes for fun.

haha, I think they may also have received a few toner transfer units, and even a 4600 transfer belt in the past...  dunno how that happened though :)

In answer to the original question
Empty Laser Printer Cartridges - Worth anything?
Yes, they are. I was looking at my monitor height compared to my eye height and thought about buying monitor risers (at about ?17 - ?20 each). Then I thought no what about old used cartridges in their boxes and it worked. I just need to disguise the fact they are cardboard boxes but it should work ok.

You could lower your chair or put the boxes under the legs of the desk.

Surprisingly that doesn't look too bad.  What the hell are those things on top of the filing cabinet?
