i need the toolbox software, cant download it from Hp

We have these, but don't know if we have the disk, I'll take a look. Do you run it as a standalone?

i read somewhere that calibration can be timed rather than every time you switch it on.

You can do it through the web interface, I had to use firefox to access it.

could this be accessed when the printer is connected by usb locally?

probably have to remove it and add a tcp/ip port?

You could hook it up with a crossover cable, give them both addresses in the 192 range and configure it from there.
