folder restore URGENT

got a pupil doing a test here and has ACCIDENTLY deleted a folder with all the work on the test... :?



any one know any directory that this may be in as there isnt a recycling he still hasnt logged off incase there is any hope what so ever

It only has been marked for deletion and removed from the disk index you need some sort of undelete software to scan the disk index. I used to use one called dirsnoop but in installing this you may write over the contents you are trying to recover unless you install it to a different drive. (you can download a 25 run trial version of it at http://www.briggsoft.com/ )

What type of files were they? Word, Access? Log onto another computer as admin and browse to the users folder. Turn the folder options on to display hidden files and look and see if there are any temp files that may have been left behind. OPen them and see if they are the exam files.

cheers for your help resorted to thursdays back up so retrieved one days work... ad told him he lost the other... hes still here today finishing it off... im near sure i can see smoke comin out of his fingers
