i have a b+w printer here, but the kids print to it it colour and it slows the printer down "processing job"
Is there any way i can get rid of this?

If it is a hp printer you should be able to use explorer to get to it's ip address and it's settings. You might find something in the settings to change that may help. Just a suggestion.

thanks steph but its a 12 year old printer, dont think it even supports web based admin.

See if you can find the owners manual and check the settings you can set on the printer. Alternatively check the properties of the printer (rather than printer preferences) their might be a tab there but this may only set it for your profile.
