Well I don't know what has happened but Firefox has died on my laptop and I've had to move to Chrome. Just started yesterday, doing nothing out of the ordinary and it crashed. Restarted it with a new session and it crashed a few minutes later. Uninstalled it and re-installed and it crashed as soon as I run it. Uninstalled it again but re-installed it into a different folder. Same problem, so I have just laid it to rest. :(


Anyone else have this problem?

I've noticed that exact scenario happening on someone else's laptop.  Very random indeed & there doesn't seem to be an easy fix... must be a bad registry edit or something.

It has worked for years and is updated regularly, although the last update was a month or so ago. Worked on Friday, didn't work on Saturday. No new software installed on the laptop recently so not sure what's caused it :(

Did you do a system restore or is it not windows?

I've not had any problems with Firefox recently although I have been using Opera on my Win 7 box just for a change. Still use Firefox on my Ubuntu partitions though and no problems there.

It does seem to me to be a registry issue (as Belfast Tech suggests).  You could maybe try running one of those reg cleaners and see if that helps?

Anyone know a good free reg cleaner? Not one that scans, tells you all the problems and then says buy to fix them.

Used the ccleaner and it seems to have fixed the problem. Also seems to have cured my file deletion problem as well :)
