sony vaio spare

does any one have a spare sony vaio pcg-grz615g which they use for salvage.

i need the panel with the speakers and power button on it, i think its to do with a dodgy ribbon cable which connects it to the motherboard. i cant get it to power for the life of me but as soon as i take it off (but keeping it connected) it powers up.

its a waste of a laptop because its  a 2Ghz processor with 512 ram n a 30 hdd so would do rightly if i could get it working...

got a quaote to get it fixed and it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop basically

thought i would try on the off-chance anyway

heres some pics of it... it works sometimes with it sitting the way it is in the pic-- 70% sure its the white ribbon cable...looks like its split

cheers

find out the part number and google it - see if you can buy the part yourself seperately.

Is there no way you can just replace the ribbon cable, or at least take it out and test with a multimeter.

too small to test it...in the close up you can see the split cable but it looks like the wire is still intact
