Si, I put a call into the helpdesk, apparently the DNS address has changed and I had to change that on my mac server to get the system up and running again.

Can you tell me what the new DNS address is  ???

Ps it would be nice if they would let us know about this type of thing  ::)

DNS addresses: 10.4.134.21 or 10.4.134.22 or 10.4.134.23 - I phoned the helpdesk and asked them to get the network team to check why I couldnt get on the internet with my Mac (legacy) network. They came back and said I was using the wrong DNS addy - funny it worked up to yesterday.

Thanks for the info Stephen.  I think this may have something to do with this:

I have a funny feeling our proxy 3 and 4 server/cluster kicked the bucket.

I tried changing nameservers but those ip addresses are 'unreachable'  when I try to ping them.  The strange thing is, the clients connected to the server have internet access - the server doesn't

Maybe I need to restart the server.. ???

They say it is to do with their aircon not working.

Right, so the cold weather has screwed there aircon, if it too warm open a window theres more that enough cold outside to go round

They acutally told me to do that once because there servers were giving temp warnings.

Ah what you mean to say is C2k or the ELB tell you to open a window, anything else and you would force them to pay for air con. This should give some of us more valid arguments for requesting air con.
