Does anyone know how to deploy a Mac OS x station image with a boot camp partition using Xserve.

Ok here is my basic note on images and using the xserver to fire them out (whatever).

Saving the image

With the machine you wish to image

Start up pressing t for target disk mode.

Let go at symbol

Connect firewire to machine and control machine

Start control machine

Make sure the hardrive is named differently to the imaging drive.

Connect to server xserve

Open share folder Mac Software (you may have something else but it is where I store the net restore software)

Copy net restore zip to desktop

Close share
Double click zip
When folder appears remove zip

Click into net restore folder

Double click on net restore helper

On Master Image Tab

Select source from master disk pull down

Make sure the following are ticked:-
     Read only compressed
    Skip file level restore checksuming
    Skip multicast restore with processing

Click on padlock (bottom left of window)
Click on create master image and select location to create into. Give the file a sensible name e.g. admin_iMac_0908_9e25

Wait and make sure Norton is not running or cancelled.

Ok now to build a machine from an image:-

To build a machine from the server use n on boot up until you see the globe

Select appropriate image

Tell it to go.

On machine image use build number e.g. 9e17 = Mac OS X 10.5.4
