Remove right click on all programs
« on: August 14, 2009, 09:36:48 AM »
Hi everyone

I am having a big problem here at the min, i have the server 2008 up and running and windows xp clients working so far. I am using local profiles for each student and Group Policies is working great with help from Philip Martin from the board (been great help) but my question is how can i stop pupil accounts from being able to right click on the START - ALL PROGRAMS menu and being able to access explorer or open as these both give the student access to the c:\ even though this is hidden.

Any help would be much apprecated.

my test pupils so far even though things are locked down well they can still access the c: of the computer and the files. I have found that i can lock the my computer down completley using gpo but this stops access to the my computer icon which the pupils would use for memory pens.

got it sorted i had removed the my computer icon from desktop using gpo but didnt realise using the new start menu (xp) it removes the icon from here as well, now just looking at changing the registry to stop pupils from being able to rename the my computer icon on the desktop and also from deleteing the icon
