Do the backups just not happen over easter? If there's no one here do they just miss them?

I tend to just email the c2kbackup email address and tell them what days there'll be no one here to put the tapes in. I think it's time they moved over to NAS (Network Attached Storage). I use it on the Legacy system and never have to worry about putting tapes in.

I don't think you're stupid, I think what you do is stupid.

On the subject of Back-ups, does your SIMS back-up give you any bother?  Ours routinely fails twice a week, always on Thursdays and the other a totally random one.

And have you all got your new tapes for the C2K back-ups??  I'm still waiting on mine, and we were due to get them around Christmas time.

Hi

I was told last week to buy new tapes DSS4 for the simms by C2k.  This apparently this is the cause for backups failing, not enough space on the existing ones!!!!

A while back we had a few problems with sims backups, turns out a couple of the tapes were faulty. Had to buy a whole new set, since then no problems.

Si, try logging a call and asking them to maby format the Thursday tape and try it again, that has helped here in the past too.
While there is still a need for teachers, there will still be a need for us!

UPDATE

The tape drive finally kicked the bucket and was replaced.  The funny thing was, it didnt work either til I ran a tape cleaner through it.  Well, today I got postive print outs for both back-ups for the first time in ages!!
