We have been using Sophos on our legacy network. Yesterday I received an E Mail from C2K stating that they are terminating the contract with Sophos as of 28 February. I am interested in what other schools are using to protect their legacy networks and if you were using Sophos have you any idea what you will do in light of the E Mail mentioned above.

I received the same email. We use Sophos as well. Not sure what I'm going to do. Think I might have two options:
1 - Use Grisofts AVG anti-virus software. The free version is great so I'm going to look into the networked version
2 - As we use a Connect 2.4 system I might contact RM and see what they are recommending - Norton probably.

I don't think you're stupid, I think what you do is stupid.

My legacy network runs on Linux Debian, so its already protected against most viruses ( due to the fact that most are written for M$ systems). Doing more research, I found that most Linux users don't use virus protection at all, just firewalls. Another reason to go linux
