Disabling Spell Checker in Word
« on: May 11, 2006, 09:16:38 AM »
Hi all

Does anyone know if the spell checker and thesaurus can be disabled in Word 2000 and if so how does one go about it?  Any help greatly appreciated

Not sure about Word 2000 but in 2002 if you goto Tools>Options then click the 'Spelling and Grammar' tab you can setup how you want the spell check to operate:

Check spelling as you type

Always suggest corrections

etc

These can all be turned off or on.

Hope this helps

You could probably disable it with a piece of code but there's no way (that I know off) of distributing it to all users :(
