Title: Web based sign in
Post by: waylander on August 26, 2020, 01:36:51 PM
Just wondered if anyone know of a web based (or form based) sign in/out sheet for staff?
Basically looking something were staff can enter their name and it will automatically time stamp them as being on premises.

Have looked at Jotform but bursar being awkward and wont pay for it as its US based

Funny this same topic came up in conversation today.  The staff sign in sheets present a bottle neck at times.

I have had a quick look there online and free software Clockify looks rather good - but I will probably go down the route of a Google Form for handiness.  I would love to have to get them to scan a random QR code to prove they actually are on site at that time but that?s the big brother in me coming through lol

we have staff sign in using fobs at terminals around the school.

I would be careful with this as it is very close to time and motion even if the school say it is just for emergencies. Could end up with union issues if used for the wrong purpose.

Here we keep a book in reception but I refuse to use it.

I don't have to worry about it.  That's what the boss wanted.
It's not fully operational but thankfully I wont have to listen to all the cries from them.

Believe you aren't allowed to encourage staff to gather in one area, or share pens.  so this will be used to get around it.

Non teaching have had to do it for years.  Time and motion sure we now have car barriers and you can't enter the site unless you swipe your access card.
