Title: Chromebooks
Post by: Renegade on January 21, 2019, 03:14:38 PM
Hello.

We're thinking of buying some Chromebooks as cheap wordprocessors for senior students to use for their A Level coursework.
Given the selection on the C@p1ta has on the catalogue, has anyone already bought some?  If so, what make/model did you opt for and have you had any problems with them?

Many thanks for any help and advice.

does any one have experience with them as a shared device?  been asked a few times about buying some but I imagine they would be very similar to Ipads and not very multiple user friendly

Thanks for the replies.

Site visited a school with 30 Dell's.  They seemed happy with the purchase and haven't had any problems with them thus far.  They bought them managed from C@p1t@.  Start up almost instantly and they retain the C2K username of the last 15 users.  You click your C2K Name and Avatar from a list on the right-hand-side of the screen and enter your C2K password to get access.  You can obviously enter a new username and password if you've not used the Chromebook before.

Just wondering what the thoughts are about the selection on offer, or even how much of a hassle it is to buy and license and admin non-Catalogue bought Chromebooks.

Has anyone bought outside of C@p1t@ and setup a class set?

Hi.

What's the verdict Outlaw?  Did all of your Chromebooks arrive on schedule?  Any setup issues for management?  Any problems/issues you've come across?

Thanks
