I work in St. Colmans College here in newry and so I have access to C2k. I also work as a presenter on my local Community radio station Iurfm 101.4Fm. We normally broadcast from our own studios each day of the week. Now on Sunday 29th November, It has been arranged for the Station to do an outside broadcast at a neighboring School, St. Joseph's Boys High School.
Now, normally when we do an Outside broadcast or broadcast from our second studio in Buttercrane Shopping Center in Newry, the output is send down the 3G network via a dongle. This works most of the time. However, I have suggested that we use the Schools broadband which, like any other School is C2K. I'm not aware if they have a private broadband system like we have here in St. Colmans College.
The Principal of St Joseph's has recently given full permission for this to happen and I'm assuming that C2K will do whatever is necessary on their end of things to open up the various ports and/or permit our connection to our sever.
So just to reassure me, what is normal practice in this case. Will we get a stable broadband connection to cover us for the day's broadcasting? Is there any technical info we should have on standby for to use with the software that we are using. Like ports or proxy addresses.
PS - if all works correctly, you will hear us from 10am on Sunday. I start broadcasting from 12 noon with the IURFM Sunday Chart Show

"Reassurance" is not in the C2K vocabulary. Don't leave the 3G dongle at home

Definitely bring the dongle unless you can get to the school and try it out, because what should work and what does work are two different things in Capita land :'(

Yes, on the day we avoided using C2K and went with our normal Dongle which did the job brilliantly. The six hour live outside broadcast went without any issues.
