Title: Music Downloads
Post by: Angela on February 03, 2006, 01:40:59 PM
Anyone recommend a good site for downloading music :?:   I guess i must sound a bit of a dinosaur but i usually go out and buy a cd but my son wants to download music now.

I've had a look at a lot of sites but with most of them you have to share your folder and I'm not too keen on that :!:

I did sign up for iTunes and download some music which i have to say was a breeze but they are an iTunes file which don't play his mp3 player but play on the computer, any suggestions?    :)

Its been a while since I have used iTunes, but as far as i can remember you can convert the files to MP3? I think its under File-Preferences.

Allofmp3.com is my personal preference.  I've been using it for about 3 years, you pay for the MBs you download - an album in Ipod format (128 aac I think) usually costs 50p or thereabouts.  You can choose what format to download in mp3, ogg, aac etc. and the bit rate.  It's a russian website and according to the BBC it's legit (in Russia) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4328269.stm

No dodgy quality torrent or kazaa downloads
