Title: Scanner nackered?

Hi, I have an old UMAX Astra 2100 U scanner here and for some reason it has just stopped scanning, the light still lights, it still attempts to scan a document, then on screen you get a total black image. Is there anything can be done?

Try updating the drivers. Think they can be found here http://support.umax.co.uk/drivers/currentdrvr.htm

maybe  the lamp has been locked in place... check underneath it

I will try the drivers. The lamp is not locked.
