If anyone has any old working PCs or laptops they want removed they would be gratefully accepted - we're running 4 TVs in our hall with Powerpoints promoting the school and we'd like all 4 to show a different topic - not much CPU power needed and they don't have to be pretty. Can anyone help?

What about 1 Old PC with either 4 graphic cards or 2 dual head graphic cards running all 4 displays in extend windows?
Just an idea but it would be more fun to try than 4 boring computers!!
-
If you go down the 4 pcs route get youself a 4 port KVM switch that way you only need 1 keyboard 1 monitor and 1 mouse to control all four PCs
I am in Ballymoney which is a bit far away to cart PCs.

Stephen & Telone - thanks for your replies - Stephen, the 4 head vga I have thought about (or 2 with dual heads) - but can u still get an old AGP or PCI one to fit on an old machine? And Telone, I live outside Garvagh though I work in Monkstown, so ur not that far from my homeward trip if u have PCs to collect. Dominic.

Check ebay but how would you pay for that through school?

off topic but I can't believe the commute that you do each day! approx 50 miles with a travel time of I'm sure around 1hr would literally drive me crazy!
After paying for fuel and car maintenance... Mustn't be much left of the lowly technician wages!
Monkstown seems like a good school though... Quite close to me!

Belfast Tech - you're dead right about the money - not much left after fuel costs - but what can you do - nothing but farming near me and I'm scared of sheep hahahah - you quickly get used to the drive tho - set myself timed markers along the way - Garvagh by 0650 - Kilrea by 0700 - PG1 by 0715 . . . that sort of thing - but I wouldn't live in Belfast again if you paid me - it's a good trade for the quiet lifestyle. Thanks for your reply too. Dominic.

So you're leavin home as I'm heading for the shower ......and by the time you get home again Stephen will be on his 4th pint !

I used to do nearly the exact same journey, outside Swatragh to Jordanstown every morning. It cost me a fortune, living in Belfast now and its saves me so much time and I'm still saving money even after paying rent compared to when I traveled.
-
PG1 - apologies - portglenone - and yes Quinn - but are you haoppy???? hahaha.
-
Yeah i dont mind living in the city. Out of interest what sort of car do you drive anyway? mpg??

You're so right bahumbug hahaha - I drive a Hyundai Accent - an old 2002 1.3 automatic (cos I'm basically a lazy sod) - full tank does 300 miles, a cpl of tanks a week - but I have no payments to make and its not horrific on fuel - changing to a diesel soon tho - if there's any red left after the city folks use it all up . . . ;D
