For sale: Rubber bands, 0.5mm square cross section x 20mm diameter. TOP QUALITY. Last few left. Some other sizes may be available.
 
As used and overpriced by Northgate Information Systems.

Would that be the ones that only fit one model of DVD drive?

you didn't take these from the rms being replaced did you?! If so haha! I should have taken a few facias & power buttons.  It's only a matter of time until our surplus (unsupported now) break!

Do you think they'd notice if we took the motherboards out and replaced them with a bit of cardboard?

No. Unfortunately I bought them from Northgate long ago, at the time I didn't realise they were available elsewhere. Northgate insisted we bought them in quantities of 50 at *only ?37.50* per pack.
 
When I got them they were individually wrapped in wee bags with a CPC logo on them. When I looked up my CPC catalog I discovered that not only could I buy them individually, but that Northgate had marked them up by hundreds of percent.

I bought them direct from CPC. I bought a load of them since I thought they should work in the Dells too.
