Title: To BEBO or not to BEBO
Post by: LOUD on May 19, 2006, 09:22:02 AM
Just caught a few of our girls on BEBO yesterday.  They had found a proxy avoidence site called www.nikq.com.

some of the stuff on that is not suitable for girls or boys aged 12-16. Any one else in other school's having problems with BEBO or other sites that we should be looking out for.

because in the end it will probably fall back on to the technicians, as these sites should be blocked.

I guess all you can do is get the proxy site filtered by mailing

filtering@c2kni.net

with the details

A few kids here have found a way through as well through google.  They have also been using emessenger to send messages during class.  I think the bebo link has been blocked now.

The link they use is http://www.google.co.uk/xhtml.

All you have to do is call the help desk quote the url of the website and ask for it to be filtered out at the next scheduled review

how often do they 'review' ?

If you mail them they'll block it almost immediately.

Yea you can bypass the filter altogether if you know your stuff.  The kids here don't really bother though, either that or they are good at not getting caught.
