Title: C2K software licenses
Post by: flashharry82 on April 06, 2006, 12:29:10 PM
Do C2K provide OEM cover for all computers or just managed computers?

As in do they provide an XP license for stand alones or is that the schools responsibility?

I would assume that they will only cover core machines & partially/fully connected legacy machines - after all the school was charged a fortune to connect them. If they provided the standalone then I would assume that it would be covered to. Alot of assumptions here :)

My understanding is that C2k will provide a licence for the broad range of software that is available on the system for any pc connected to the C2k system.

By the same token when you purchase a managed pc you get a CC3 community licence (XP opertaing system) and a/v software norton again licenced.  A new PC from Rm ships with a restore disk for and bundled software for Cd buring and DVD playing.
