Title: When computers fight back
Post by: Gerard on April 04, 2006, 09:14:18 AM
What personel experiences/injurys have you got when working with a machine

last night i had a cd shot at me that broke in the drive  :?  S*** myself

also had a brave few power supplies blow up ---  ones that give the big blue spark wreck your nerves for atleast a few days

got sliced by sharp edges in drive bays

nipped the palm of my hand on a case when closing it

droped one on my toe ( which hurt more  than the rest i think)

and never ending amount of electric shocks  8)

Computers have generally been very good to me :)

All I can think of is when I had a CD-ROM drive that had an erratic disc caddy.  It used to try to nip your fingers while you tried to put a disc into it by closing on you unexpectedly.

I hate pulling me hand out of a computer and finding i'm bleeding somehow!!! It's only cheap nasty cases normally.

Power supply blowing scares the crap out of me every time. BANG!!

Had all the usual sliced fingers, nipped palms, a few (minor) electric shocks. Nothing too dramatic  :( . Had a slide projector nearly go on fire on me once, it was lying in a box for years and i was asked to "Test it" to see if it still worked. Think the transformer in it was knackered.
