Printer Mapper Tool

Printer Mapper tool not starting automatically when a user logs onto a workstation.

Does anyone know how to run it manually?

When was the last time the desktop was restarted?  That is a common issue if the station uptime is rather long.

I usually have to log a call. Have a few users who have this issue maybe once a month and the machine does get restarted

Machine restarted on a daily basis.  Logged a call with c2k and they sorted it out in a few mins.

Out of interest do you know what they did to fix the issue?

Happening here more often than I would like with 1 user in particular.

From what I could follow on screen they restarted the printer spooler from services.msc, and reinstalled the mapper tool app.

Yeah for the PDF not printing issues they do the services.msc - printer spooler - restart then the printers show in adobe. Was logging ones about that 1/2 a day for a few weeks as PDFs weren't playing ball.

I've found this useful go to the cmd prompt and type in set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 press enter it will look like nothing is happening but has set up for the next part then type in devmgmt.msc  when the window pane comes up go to view scroll down to show hidden devices click on it then open print queues and delete all of the one note printers. Since I have used this I have had no issues with anyone not able to print PDF or Excel documents.
